Tom Holland wasn’t approached about a Back to the Future reboot, here’s why!

Well, this has certainly gained a lot of traction over the last few days, and today it’s just become too much. Far too many pages and accounts are posting this as click bait! Many of you might remember the ‘Deep Fake’ video that went viral of Tom Holland as Marty Mcfly and Robert Downey Jr. playing Doc Brown. A pretty creepy video to say the least, but one that got people talking. Was it cool to see? Yes! Both would be great if such a remake was to happen. But rest assured… there’s no reboot in the works.

People are now trying to say Tom Holland was approached and has been in talks about a remake. That is not correct. His exact quote was “ I’d be lying if I said there hasn’t been conversation in the past about doing a remake, but that film is the most perfect film, or one of the most perfect films, one that could never be made better”. When asked about this, the context of the question was about him and his agent discussing it. He admitted to talking to HIS AGENT about a reboot…. NOT TALKING TO STUDIOS ABOUT IT. This is only my opinion but it’s pretty easy to tell from the context of the interview! He has never been approached by a studio head, Nor has Bob Gale or Robert Zemeckis, who own the rights to Back to the Future, ever reached out to him about a reboot. No studio would ever reach out about doing a BTTF reboot without Gale and Zemeckis being on board! Just last week Bob Gale was asked about the deep fake video and if there would ever be a remake or reboot and his response was matter of fact! He said: “You know, you don't sell your kids into prostitution. It was the wrong thing to do. We put 'The End' at the end of part three.” He said that all involved have stood firm on the idea that Marty and the Doc should not return to the big screen.

Gale added: "We learn from the fact that so many studios have gone back to the well on some of their franchise properties too many times, and the audiences are disappointed and say: 'Oh my God, they ruined my childhood.'

"We don't want to ruin anybody's childhood, and doing a musical was the perfect way to give the public more Back to the Future without messing up what has gone before." Bob Gale referencing the HUGELY popular Back to the Future musical which opened in Manchester, UK last week.

So there you have it folks, NO, there is NO reboot in the works, there never was! Bob Gale set it straight, as did we with the context to which Tom Holland replied to the question about the deep fake video. People are simply twisting Tom Holland’s words and taking them out of context. So please…. stop sharing fake articles saying there is a reboot.
